One Man Who Stands Out From the Crowd!
Gregg Caldwell explains his commitment to the community in this way: he has a list of personal goals that includes giving back to those with whom he lives and works. He supports the lifesaving mission of Inova Blood Donor Services by giving of himself as a donor and serving as an advocate.
Every two weeks, Gregg donates platelets at Inova Blood Donor Service’s CentreMed location. He knows that his blood type, AB, can help every patient because it’s the universal plasma. He finds the two hours he spends donating platelets refreshing, as he takes a little nap and enjoys the private time to regroup!
At their company in Chantilly - G & C Express Auto Services - Gregg and his wife, Christina, sponsor numerous blood drives. His spring drive featured a variety of activities for all who attended – Fairfax County firefighters demonstrated the “Jaws of Life,” NASCAR’s Nextel Cup show car was on display, and much more. His blood drives often include other giving opportunities, such as Toys for Tots at his holiday drive. In fact, when the Marines arrived to pick up the toys, Gregg asked them to donate blood too!
His generosity extends beyond giving platelets and sponsoring blood drives. He has provided many Car Club Care memberships as thank you prizes for donors; at the G & C service desk you can always find information about donating blood; and he has even invited his customers to make financial contributions directly to Inova Blood Donor Services.

INOVA Blood Drive at G&C Express
G&C sponsored another INOVA BLOOD DRIVE at G&C Express Tire & Auto Service on June 1st - Friday from 8 am - 2 pm.
Breakfast and lunch was served. Prizes were drawn for all donors - ranging from race tickets at Old Dominion Raceway to oil changes for a year. To reach our goal we needed two donors every 15 minutes.
Readers who wanted to donate could call 703-263-2474 and ask for Kathy to set an appointment to donate. G&C has sponsored two blood drives per year in the past. This year we had pledged to INOVA to sponsor 4 blood drives per year at our Chantilly and Manassas location. Appointments could also be set up on line at www.gandcauto.com.
G&C is a family owned by Gregg & Christina Caldwell which has been serving Northern Virginia since 1995. The community has been very supportive of our business over the years. Blood drives are our way to help give back to a community that has helped our family.
